Richard Norman Shaw

A prominent architect in Scotland during the late-19th century, Richard Norman Shaw trained under Anthony Salvin and George Edmund Street after studying at the Royal Academy, London. He is particularly well-known for his partnership with William Eden Nesfield with whom he built a series of country houses in the 'Old English' or 'Old Sussex' style that reverted back to vernacular architecture.
