Tokyngton Recreation Ground (also known as Monks Park)8122

London, England, Greater London

Brief Description

Tokyngton Recreation Ground is a large park with a pond and a meadow in the south, with the River Brent running through it.

The park was created to compensate for the loss of parkland when the North Circular Road was widened in the 1980s. The area's former name of Monks Park derives from the Neeld family who owned land in the Tokyngton area and lived in Monk's Park at Corsham, near Bath.
