Croydon Wilds

Introduction

Features of Croydon Wilds include walkways, mounts and a moat.

The house was placed centrally within an exactly square moated garden which had terraced walkways along two sides of the interior and raised mounts at the corners. The moat still survives.
History

A new house on the remote Wilds was built here in the early-17th century by the Cage family who then owned most of the parish. The house was demolished in 1957.
