The Formal Garden originally lay to the east of the castle. It was cleared when Swinton Park was redesigned.
History
The Formal Gardens were laid out in 1699 to a design by George London. The fountain was added in the early-18th century. The garden was cleared away when William Danby I made alterations to Swinton Park in the 1760s.
