The site has a landscape park laid out in the 1760s. There were gardens on the site from at least 1699. Features include a 'Coffin Pond' with stone coffins of possible Saxon date laid out around the boathouse. There is also a serpentine lake, walled garden, rockery, icehouse and sunken path.
The earliest record of a garden on the site dates from 1699, with a reference to a garden laid out by George London. The site was landscaped in the 1760s.
