Swinton Park, Harrogate

Introduction

The site has a landscape park laid out in the 1760s. There were gardens on the site from at least 1699. Features include a 'Coffin Pond' with stone coffins of possible Saxon date laid out around the boathouse. There is also a serpentine lake, walled garden, rockery, icehouse and sunken path.
