Brief Description

Larden Cottage is a villa set in grounds inclosed from Mogg Forest. In the late 18th century the grounds were newly planted up with forest trees. The property was much embellished in the 19th century, including the creation of Cottage Pool, an ornamental lake formed by the construction of a massive dam on Brockton Brook.

History

Larden Cottage, which was renamed Brockton Grange around 1990, was probably built by Thomas More, lord of Brockton from 1780 to 1804. In 1793 he held it in hand, when the grounds were newly planted up with forest trees. The property was much embellished in the 19th century.
