Private communal garden square dated about 1765. Walls include retaining walls to Hope Chapel Hill and Lane. Stone gate posts remain. Originally there was another enclosing terrace with houses which were built as lodging houses for visitors to the Hot Wells. It lies within the Clifton conservation area.

Detailed Description

This private garden square was for communal use by the houses in Hope Square and it dates from about 1765. Walls include the retaining walls to Hope Chapel Hill and Lane. There are stone gate posts still extant. The area is grassed with trees. Originally there was another enclosing terrace of houses which were built as lodging houses for visitors to the Hot Wells.
