Tivoli Park, Margate

Introduction

Originally designed as a pleasure garden, Tivoli Park has in recent years been left to its own devices and is now a designated nature reserve.

Adjoining Hartsdown Park is Tivoli Park. In 1830, Le Jardin de Tivoli was described as ‘one of the most beautiful and romantic spots in Thanet' - a Pleasure Garden without peer for the entertainment to be had there. Today, left to its own devices and designated a nature reserve, it is appreciated by the birds and mammals now inhabiting.
