St Aelhaiarn churchyard

Introduction

The circular, walled churchyard at St Aelhairan's surrounds a well-preserved medieval church, dating back to the early 14th century or earlier. Around the periphery of the churchyard are about 20 ancient, managed yew trees, planted at regular distances. The earliest yew possibly dates from the mid-17th century.
