The Mill House, Bassingbourn

Introduction

Features of The Mill House include an orchard, a pergola and a pool.

The Mill House is north-west of Bassingbourn on the road to Shingay. During the last twenty years (2000) the owners have designed a garden of about 0.4 hectares around the house, incorporating an existing orchard in the open flat countryside. A wall encloses a secret garden containing a box hedged rectangular pool. A pergola from the north of the house supports an abundance of climbing roses and clematis. The garden is filled with many fascinating plants which grow well on this exposed site.
History

The garden at The Mill House has been created since the 1980s.
