Weston Colville Hall

Introduction

Features of Weston Colville Hall include an orchard, kitchen garden, moat and lawns.

A map, dated 1828 shows John Hall's property with the garden which consisted of an orchard, main garden and the kitchen close bounded to the south by a moat. John Hall remodelled the building which later became a farmhouse.

Today the road has been moved further away from the hall and the drive is dominated with giant redwoods, pines and conifers and a series of unusually rotund clipped yews. There are gardens to the side and rear which now are mainly lawn. A paddock which is partly walled lies to the south of the hall.

History

Weston Colville Hall was built in 1720 to the west of the village.
