Brief Description
Sutton Common Park or Recreation Ground is an area of open space subdivided by a fenced path. There are mature trees along the road boundary and the park contains a fountain installed by the Metropolitan Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association.
History
The area is marked on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map of 1867 as two open fields. It was purchased by Sutton UDC for a recreation ground in 1927 and laid out by 1933.
