Plas Machynlleth (also known as Greenfields)

Introduction

Plas Machynlleth is a late-19th-century house built around a mid-18th-century core. The house is set in pleasure grounds and parkland on the edge of Machynlleth. In the mid-20th century the then owner, the 7th Marquess of Londonderry, gave the house and grounds to the town and the garden was opened as a public park. The remains of a rose garden and walled garden survive.
