Dolmelynllyn

Introduction

The 19th-century park at Dolmelynllyn, with its lake and woodland, are associated with a country house, the earliest portions of which date from the 16th century. The house is now a hotel. The gardens include formal terraces within wooded pleasure grounds, and a disused terraced walled kitchen garden. A picturesque walk to Rhaeadr Du, now on National Trust land, was popularised by William Madocks, who was a tenant in the late-18th century.
