Brief Description
The Japanese Garden at Shirenewton Hall was created in a field to the south of the house in the early-20th century. It consists of a series of six ponds with cascades, linked by winding paths and bridges. The planting features a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees and shrubs, and the garden contains several genuine Japanese structures and ornaments.
History
The Japanese garden was created by Charles Liddell who bought the house in 1900 and lived there until his death in 1945.
