Kenwick Park 6305

Ellesmere, England, Shropshire

Brief Description

Nothing remains on the ground of this medieval/ early post-medieval park.

History

In 1577 there was a park at Kenwick, with a house or lodge in its eastern part. The park was enclosed soon after, and it is now unclear precisely what area the park covered. In the earlier 19th century 'Kenwick's Park' was a separate township and tithe district, curving south and east from Kenwick Park to also include the land around Kenwick Lodge.
