Brief Description
Craufurdland Castle has been owned by the same family since the 13th century. The designed landscape contains woodland, pasture and a loch. The estate offers private fishing and woodland burial facilities.
History
The Houison-Craufurd family have been associated with the estate since the mid-13th century. Enclosure and planting had taken place by the mid-17th century. In the mid-18th century there was a formal feature of a vista flanked by parks. More tree planting had taken place by the mid-19th century.
