History

Caradoc court was built about 1600 on a site commanding extensive views over the Wye Valley. It was set among rectangular courts. A terrace walk overlooked the river and the surrounding countryside.

In the late 19th century the house was remodelled and a serpentine carriage drive, with lodge, constructed, lined with lime trees on one side. The terrace walk was extended and a flower garden laid out. Many ornamental trees were planted, some of which survive.

The house was burnt down in 1986. It has been partly rebuilt.
