Alexandra Park, Stockport (also known as Edgeley House)

Introduction

Alexandra Park was formerly Edgeley House. The site lies to the south of the Cheadle Road. There is a lane to the west, Dale Street to the east and Edgeley Bleach Works to the south. There was a possible connection between the house and the works. The site is roughly rectangular in shape with the house towards the southern corner close to Edgeley Cottage. There is a lawn to the north and east of the house and productive gardens to the eastern edge of the site. The site survives in part, as the grounds survive as Alexandra Park.
