Ailsa Hospital (also known as Ayrshire Lunatic Asylum)

Introduction

The designed landscape at Ailsa Hospital was laid out as grounds for the then county lunatic asylum in the 1860s. The site has since been developed with the addition of villas in the 1890s and a hospital block in 1904.
