World War 2 Memorial Garden, Kendal 8503

Brief Description

This small garden is in a quiet part of the town. There is a wooden structure with a bronze plaque and eight columns of names. The entrance to the garden is through a gate under a fir arch.

History

This site commemorates those who gave their lives in World War 2. The land was given by Sam T. Clark, the founder of Romney's Kendal Mint Cake, and the additional funds were raised by public subscription.
