Winderwath Gardens

The 5 acre garden is owned privately by Jane Pollock and was originally laid out at the beginning of the 20th Century. It boasts a number of mature trees including Wellingtonia, Cut Leaf Beech and Cedar. There is something for every season with countless bulbs and Hellebores emerging in early Spring before the growing season takes hold. Furthermore, late in the season the huge collection of Salvias provide stunning late colour. The garden also showcases a range of carefully considered habitats and microclimates in which certain plants flourish. The bogbeds, rockeries, dry beds and herbaceous borders have all undergone extensive renovation in recent years. For fruit and vegetable lovers, the walled garden is an area of particular interest along with the apple orchard and soft fruit cages.
