Onibury 6403

Onibury, England, Shropshire

Brief Description

There was a park of medieval origins at Onibury, which may have survived as late as the 19th century. It is now lost.

History

Robert Burrel received licence to impark at Onibury in 1266. That park may have had a continuous existence until the early 19th century, as in 1851 it was noted that a former park was now

divided into farms. Those farms were presumably the Lower park, Middle Park, and Upper Park of the 1880s, which lay north-west of Onibury village.
