Brief Description

There is a mid-20th-century garden layout and planting by Dame Sylvia Crowe and Raymond Cutbush at Lower Soughton Hall. The garden has formal and informal features and includes herbaceous borders, yew hedges and island beds with mixed planting.

History

Originally in the Conway family, Lower Soughton Hall passed by marriage to the Howards of St Asaph, in whose hands it stayed until the early-20th century. In the mid-20th century the Gray family commissioned Sylvia Crowe to redesign the gardens.
