Brief Description
Carlung House has a small designed landscape, which originated in the 18th century. It now comprises about five hectares of gardens, grounds and woodland, with some specimen conifers and rhododendrons.
History
The first records of planting at Carlung House date from the late-18th century. By the mid-19th century blocks of planting surrounded the house and oval walled garden. The house was rebuilt in the 1930s for Robert Barr by J. Austin Laird. In 1979 it was converted into five apartments.
