Brief Description
The designed landscape at Kerelaw is fragmented. What remains consists of pasture and mature woodland and the ruins of Kerelaw Castle, which were once incorporated into the landscape design. The site awaits further development, following the closure of the school in the early-21st century.
History
There are records of a small impaled park at Kerelaw from the mid-17th century. Woodland was a feature of the estate through the centuries. The late-18th-century mansion house was demolished in about 1970 and modern school buildings and sports pitches constructed. The school closed in 2005.
