Cambridge University Botanic Garden, Winter Garden

Introduction

The winter garden is at its peak between December and April each year. Plantings include flowering trees, shrubs and various red, orange and maroon coloured plants.

The garden has a wide variety of winter-flowering plants, shrubs and trees. The garden is deliberately open to the south to allow the setting sun in winter to flood the valley - a feature included during the design process.
