Ernest Newton, architect, trained under Richard Norman Shaw from 1873 to 1876, and then became an assistant in the practice. He opened his own London-based practice in February 1880 and was in partnership with William West Neve from 1882.
Newton wrote A Book of Houses (1890) and A Book of Country Houses (1903).
