Brief Description

Thie Gretch is a long plot of 1 acre falling south-west down to a stream. There is a lawn surrounded by ornamental trees and shrubs, with many rare plantings. Several were propagated from seeds from collecting expeditions or seed exchanges. The garden has occasional charity open days.

History

The site was developed as a plantsman's garden from 1972 by Mr T B Hesketh.
