Introduction

Richmond Castle is sited above the River Swale. There are banks of trees between the castle and the river to the south. There is a contemporary garden on the site, named the Cockpit Garden.

The site is open daily from 10 am between April and September. It is open from Thursdays to Mondays throughout the rest of the year. Opening hours are shorter in the winter months.
