Brief Description

The ruins of Keirs Castle stand at the head of a ravine part way up the rising ground from the valley of the River Doon. Most of the planting is situated in the glen.

History

Keirs Castle may date from the 13th century. Enclosure and planting had taken place by the mid-17th century and continued through the 18th century.
