Brief Description
Dukinfield Lodge had a house, set in grounds to north of Crescent Road. Dukinfield Cemetery lies to the east, Park Road to the north. There was some suburban development of Huncliffe to the south-west corner of the site. There was a pleasure ground with irregular blocks of woodland on a steeply sloping site. The site is mostly developed but an open area corresponding to part of the original site survives in housing development.
History
The Lodge was built in 1770 for the Astley family. It stood on the site of the old Manor House, originally the seat of the Dukinfield family.
