Brief Description
The garden of Dinton Hall is home to the remains of a 17th-century walled garden. A dovecote dating from the 16th century also partially survives. To the north of the hall lies the crumbling Dinton Castle, an eyecatcher for the main house.
History
The hall at Dinton has been been subject to several periods of alteration but it is thought to originally date from approximately 1500. A sustained restoration effort in the 18th and 19th centuries has obscured many of the early features. The walled garden dates from the 17th century.Dinton Castle, a nearby folly, was built by Sir John Vanhattem in 1769.
