Brief Description

The designed landscape at Craigston Castle dates from the early-18th century and comprises parkland, woodland and a walled garden.

History

Craigston Castle is the family home of the Urquhart clan. A scheme for the gardens was drawn up by William Adam in 1733 and there are also several plans from 1747 to 1753 produced by James May. John Smith designed the glasshouse in 1833 and the Castle porch in 1838.

Visitor Facilities

The site is open for two weeks in both June and August. Groups can arrange to visit throughout the year.
