Brief Description
The site of a former workhouse, later hospital, which has now been developed into a modern housing estate.
History
The workhouse was built in 1836 and the first inmates admitted a year later.In 1929, the workhouse was converted into a hospital and remained so until its closure and demolition in the early 1990s. A housing development was completed upon the site in 2008.
