Brief Description

The palace buildings date back at least to the 12th century, and were extensively remodelled in the 18th century. The formal gardens of the 18th century were affected by the creation of Deansway in the later 18th century and became a drive.

History

The former Bishop's Palace of the early middle ages was altered in the 18th century and ceased to be a palace in the mid-19th century.
