Beeks Cottages, Marshfield

Introduction

The site has terraced gardens belonging to Beeks Mansion, now used by the inhabitants of Beeks Cottages as a kitchen garden. The terrace on the south side below the cottages is disused and overgrown.

  • Description: Irregular triangular pond 25m long X 15m wide (greatest width). Oriented east-west with broad end to the east. Surrounding wall at distance of about 10m absent only at east end. No real need for this to be a field pond as a stream runs at the bottom of the field. It may be related to Beeks Mansion which lay to the north.
