W Richardson & Co. of Darlington were noted designers and suppliers of glasshouses in the 19th century, not only in the UK but across Europe.
William Richardson was a Quaker, and was born at Langbaurgh Hall in Ayton, North Yorkshire on 6 June 1836. He married Mary Ann Ashby of Staines in 1859.
