William Morgan

William Morgan was born in Tremeirchion (North of Denbigh) and worked on a big estate as a boy before joining the Cheshire Regiment in 1916. He served in Germany before going to South Africa and then Mesopotamia. William returned home in 1919-1920 and went back to gardening, serving as under gardener at Plas Newton. He became Head Gardener in 1925 and moved into The Lodge. William became a Show Judge in the Cheshire area after winning many awards. His main expertise was in Chrysanthemums. He retired at age 65.
