William Belwood

William Belwood was an architect and surveyor from York, England active in the mid- to late-18th century. He was the son of a shoemaker, and, until 1761, he was apprenticed to a carpenter. After several successful posts carrying out the designs of the architects Robert and James Adam, Belwood established his own practice in York in 1774. He died, in York, 21 May 1790.
