William Beattie Brown

Mr William Beattie Brown was a Scottish landscape painter based in Edinburgh, Scotland. His works were first exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy in 1852, then later exhibited at the Royal Academy in London, England periodically from 1863 to 1899. In 1871 Brown was appointed an associate of the Royal Scottish Academy and in 1884 he was made a full academician. He was born in Haddington, near Edinburgh, Scotland on 9 November 1831 and died at his Edinburgh home, 15 St Bernard's Crescent, on 31 March 1909.
