Lily Newton

Lily Newton attended the University of Bristol, where she became an assistant lecturer in 1919. She became Vice-Principal of the University of Wales in 1951 and became Emeritus Professor of the University of Wales, Aberystwyth in 1959. Her work included studies of seaweed, plant distributions and pollution. She died in Swansea in 1981.
