John Foster was the architect of St David's College (later Lampeter University), which he built to an Oxford Quadrangle design in 1822-1827. He also undertook alterations and garden buildings at Abergwili Palace. Both contracts were for the Bishop of St Davids.
He was domiciled in Bristol.
