John Etty

John Etty was an architect-craftsman based in York active, particularly in Yorkshire, England, in the late-17th and early-18th centuries.

Born around 1634, he was the son of James Etty (died 1674), a carpenter from York. He was the father of the architect-craftsman, William Etty (born around 1675, died 1734), also of York, by whom he was succeeded in practice.

Etty died on 28 January, in either 1707 or 1708, the year of his death is unclear.
