John Constable, landscape painter and draughtsman, was born on 11 June 1776 at East Bergholt House, Church Street, East Bergholt, Suffolk. Constable was an influential painter throughout the late-18th and early-19th centuries. He found inspiration at Coleorton Hall, along with William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. John Constable died on 1 April 1837.
