Description:4th monograph published by Landscape Design Trust. Shepheard's career spread across the disciplines of architecture, landscape and planning. Professionally he centered on landscape architecture and his earliest important work was in the Festival of Britain. He was invited to the University of Pennsylvania by Ian McHarg and later became Dean of the faculty. Shepheard worked on both sides of the Atlantic and was a partner in Bridgewater, Shepheard and Epstein, later Shepheard, Epstein and Hunter. He was essentially a modernist that was tempered with his love of plants.
