Description:This is a single sheet pen and grey wash plan drawn by Lancelot Brown. It featured in an exhibition in 2008 entitled 'Landscapes of the Imagination'. Erik de Jong, Michael Lafaille and Christian Bertram eds. 'Landscapes of the Imagination: Designing the European Tradition of Garden and Landscape Architecture 1600-2000', (Belgium, 2008) p.68 (reprd p.68, 12-2). In 2015 this scheme was identified by Dr Sarah Rutherford as possibly being for Luton Hoo in Bedfordshire. Recent sales of this item include sale by the 3rd Earl of Bute, sold Sotheby's, 23 May 1951, lot 34; Purchased by the RIBA, 1966.
