Woodmanton is an ancient house rebuilt in 1827, when a park appears to have been laid out, but the park does not appear on later maps.
The owner of Woodmanton was granted a licence to crenellate in 1332. The house was rebuilt in 1827, retaining some earlier fabric and a moat. The park was mapped in the early 19th century, but is not recorded later in the century.
