St Beuno's College 3071

Tremeirchion, Wales

Brief Description

The mid-19th-century designed garden at St Beuno's is attached to a contemporary religious house. The gardens comprise a number of terraces that were originally planted with fruit trees and are now mostly grassed over. A further terrace has formal circular beds in it. A wooded walk leads to the garden boundary, then across a field to a chapel.

History

The house was built in two phases in the mid- to late-19th century, and the Jesuit College was founded in 1848. It is currently an Ignatian Spirituality Centre.
