There is a paved area in the centre of a field of mown grass. A memorial tablet and two flagpoles in the paved area commemorate Lieutenant A Brown Usaaf, who is buried on this site.
Arthur L. Brown Usaaf was a 23 year old 1st Lieutenant from New York. On January 14th, 1944, he crashed in his Thunderbolt on this site to avoid the town. The site was donated by the local owner to be retained in commemoration. A local mason donated a new memorial in 1985 which replaced the 1944 one.
